“My photographs don’t go below the surface. They don’t go below anything. They’re readings of the surface. I have great faith in surfaces. A good one is full of clues.” – Richard Avedon
A portrait does not have to uncover someone’s soul every time. Sometimes it is just about the beauty we can recognize in a human face, be it young or old, pretty or ugly.

The following photographs are part of a series called “Dreamy Portraits” - part of the series was submitted to and won the XLV Istria Nobilissima competition in the Photography category.

The following photos are part of a series called “La musica è finita” - “The music is over”. These are portraits of some of the members of the Italian minority in Rijeka, Croatia, taken in their historic social club, “Circolo”. The Italian minority is slowly dissapearing, with young people less interested in their Italian heritage, and the social club is becoming less and less frequented. The title was inspired by a song by the Italian singer Mina - all the titles of the individual photos are fron the lyrics.
